Totland Pier
Located on the Isle of Wight, Totland Bay Pier is one of the oldest structures of its kind in the United Kingdom. Lights installed underneath the 450 foot pier slowly shifted color, sending luminescent beams up into the dark night sky over the English Channel. In lighting this pier, Dear brought a modern touch to an aging structure, reimagining an historic landmark.
“This was a deeply satisfying project for me,” said Dear. “To bring much needed attention to such a British institution, but also to be reminded of the simple pleasure I enjoyed for many of my childhood years.”
